LEADERSHIPPhilosophy and Rationale
The team leadership program encourages students to practice the key elements of “servant leadership” through peer and mentorship learning opportunities. Students will develop their own leadership skills, learn to take risks, and grow in positive, productive ways. Within the class, student driven team building processes will develop a sense of trust, responsibility for, and commitment to each other. This positive, non-threatening environment provides the structure for students to be willing to take risks; thereby giving them the confidence to make a difference at Western and in the community.
“Leadership isn’t really about leading. It is about getting people to follow you.” Steve Young,
