
The Walleye
| Looks This fish is the largest of the North American Perches. They grow up to 36 inches and up to 15 pounds. The body is large, and long. Its body is covered with small gray or silver green scales. It has 2 dorsal fins. One is spiny and the other is soft. Its large eyes that stick out help it see well at night and in the muddy water. |
Food Walleyes are carnivorous which means they eat meat. They need a big supply of other meaty fish to eat. Its a popular sport fish. |
Family Walleyes breed in the spring and early summer depending on their location As adults they are prey to pike and their young are eaten by various other fish.

water fish. It is found almost anywhere in Canadian rivers, streams and
lakes. |
Even larger fish and birds eat the Walleye for their food.
