The Chevron Zoo School gives many Calgary teachers and students the opportunity to spend a week of learning at the Calgary Zoo. Children have the opportunity to use the zoo as a springboard for their learning both in and out of the zoo school environment. The students at Parkdale Elementary have been busy preparing for this learning adventure.
Our preparation for zoo school has included the exploration of...
We are fortunate enough to be able to have two of our Parkdale Elementary classes involved. Miss Speight's grades 2 and 3 students and Mrs. Paul's grades 3 and 4 students are both embarking on this learning adventure this spring of 2002.
At zoo school our students will be observing and studying the many animals, plants, and habitats. We will have an opportunity to take part in several zoo programs which feature live animals, real biofacts, thoughtful learning experiences hosted by zoo docents, the handling of animals, and even going "behind the scenes" with zoo keepers!
Please follow us through this incredible learning adventure as we "discover life on Earth," with the Calgary Zoo!
