cabin was created by the students in room 3. We were inspired by our
study of the Inglis family in Little House in the Big Woods, by
Laura Inglis Wilder. We created the family's log home and the smoke
house just as Charles Inglis had in the book. We hung our food in
the attic, made a smoke house, and designed the home to look just as the
book described it. We made both the cabin and smoke house with
tri-folds. Together we designed, built, and painted our incredible
of Alberta would often have to live in sod homes until they could afford
the enormous cost of lumber to build a log home. Since trees are
scarce in the prairies, the pioneers would have to use the land the best
that they could to survive.
