The Toy Safe

Pioneers were often very poor people.  Artifacts like this one would have belonged to a more wealthy family.  This child's toy safe belonged to a child in Calgary about 100 years ago.  It would have been used to save money.  It is made out of a fine metal such a pewter.  Its knob turns just like a real safe, although it doesn't lock.  It is a part of the Glenbow Museum's incredible pioneer artifacts collection.
