Toys and Dolls from the 1950's

This is a doll from the 1950's.  It was the kind of doll that little girls played with before there was "Barbie."  Her legs don't bend but her arms do move.  We like that her eyes open and shut when you tilt her head.  Evelyn is the lady that brought this doll to our museum.  She works in the playschool in our school.  She said that this doll was one of her most special toys.

Children took very special care of their toys in the 1950's.  When they broke, they got fixed not replaced.  Children had fewer toys and took very good care of each of them.
