In the home in the 1950's

In the 1950's it was very common to find that the woman of the house stayed at home to raise the children.  Because things cost a lot less money and since people bought fewer things, there was often only a need for the father to work.

Women at home often baked for their families.  This special box of pastry and baking tools is a special memento and a reminder of how things have really changed.

Today, most families have two working parents.  Families with only one parent also find the parent working.
