Toys and Dolls from the 1950's

This is a G.I. Joe doll from the 1960's or early 1970's.  Boys in the 1950's didn't really have "action figures" like they do today.  G.I. Joe was one of the first "boy's" version of "Barbie."  He was a very active toy and even had helicopters and tanks as well.

Children took very special care of their toys in the 1950's.  When they broke, they got fixed not replaced.  Children had fewer toys and took very good care of each of them.
