The Housing of the Blackfoot
The Blackfoot people built there homes out
of animal skin.
The women were responsible for putting up
and down the tipis.
It took at least 20 minutes to put up the tipis.
The tipis were usually made of deerskin,
buffalo, antelope, or moose hides.
When buffalo were used they used about
12-20 hides. Each tipi hade four long pine
poles joined together at the top with animal
