The aardvark is an amazing creature because it is the sacred animal of Africa. The aardvark has a short neck, long narrow snout, long protractile tongue and the hind legs are longer than the front ones.

Aardvarks can be found in all regions of Africa. If the soil is too hard, they will move to areas where the digging is easier.

This animal is nocturnal. It has to be dark before the emerge from their burrows. It is seldom seen.

The aardvark was eating termites as long as 35 million years ago.

It has one offspring at a time. After 2 weeks the baby will follow its mother and it is suckled until it is 4 months old.

The predators of the aardvark are lions, hyenas, leopards and pythons.

The aardvark has fewer teeth than most mammals. Males wander more than the females. This animal is columnar in shape, which means that it has rings around it.
