While studying life in Ancient Greece, the students in Room 4 began to question the construction and design of the buildings created by civilizations around the world. They were impressed with the ancients abilities to put together structures that have lasted for thousands of years. We began to identify patterns and designs that have been copied into modern buildings. The kids became excited by the connections this old world had with their new one. So, we journeyed into the world of mathematics to investigate these connections. The kids choose a structure they admired from an ancient civilization that excited them. They re-constructed that structure and then began to investigate the angles, measurement and patterns within the structure. We discovered we needed a home to display our models and share our discoveries. And so, our museum was born. Please join us on a journey to ancient worlds.
