Pemmican is a food that the Natives made from buffalo meat or fat and wild berries. The Natives used a big rock with a groove on it. The groove was used as a handle. The Natives used the rock to smash and mix the berries and meat into pemmican. This rock is very big and heavy. Pemmican is a normal food for the Natives. The Natives would use certain kinds of berries like wild strawberries or saskatoon berries. Pemmican can last one or two years because the Natives made a pouch out of buffalo and put the pemmican in the pouch.
