Return to the Grade 2 Website | Renaissance | Our Journey | Robotics | Home

After spending time studying about the many interesting aspects of the Renaissance, the question was how do we move on to different communities in Canada. Students were aware that the Renaissance was a time of exploration and new worlds were being discovered. The idea of a new beginning in a new land brought Europeans to North America. We started off looking into the French that came and settled in Acadia. We then looked at the explorers who were searching out the Nothwest Passage and came across the Inuit people of the Arctic.

In order to discuss these topics, we looked at 4 specific questions:

Why do people move?

What do people take with them when they move?

What do you need to change inorder to survive or adapt to a new place?

How does technology define our understanding of our world?

On May 31, 2007, we shared our learning with our families. To see our slides and what we had to share, click on the links above.
